On Aug 21, 2010 there was a ceremony at Firefighter's Memorial Park to celebrate the new memorial constructed there. The KFD Honor Guard performed a ceremony and several speakers gave honor to the event including Kingman Fire Chief Chuck Ostermann.
It was the community's way of saying thank you to the firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives. One of the most important things we can do is to never forget the sacrifices made by these brave men.
CORE Construction volunteered to coordinate the memorial. CORE and its subcontractors, along with money from the sale of memorial bricks that are part of the plaza paid for the $190,000 memorial.
There was a large crowd of local citizens on hand to honor the firefighters.
